The X-Files Revival: 10 Things We Learned From The Season Finale

9. Skinner Is Apparently An Afterthought

Walter Skinner (Mitch Pileggi) was one of the most popular supporting characters in the show's history, probably right after the Lone Gunmen. In fact, he even made the credits in the final season of the show, and it was a great surprise to see him in those credits once again in season ten. However, he was totally wasted throughout the revival. Despite Pileggi's prominent billing, he was almost nowhere to be found, eliminating one of the strongest talents the show has in favour of newcomers both of the guest star and recurring character variety (Robbie Amell and Lauren Ambrose, for example). It's clear that this revival is (well, mostly likely, especially given the strong ratings) not the show's last hurrah, so let's hope this is corrected in future installments.
