Since the moment the episode first aired, the "flukeman" - a mutated part fluke, part human creature born out of the aftermath of Chernobyl that takes centre stage in the episode - has both fascinated and grossed out X-Files fans the world over. The physical look, the fact that it lives in sewers and at one point gets sucked out of a portable toilet, the way it lays its eggs - by biting a human victim and infecting him or her - it's all just so damn gross and creepy. The flukeman was actually future X-Files writer Darin Morgan (brother of executive producer Howard Morgan), who would later appear on screen in the episode "Small Potatoes" in a suit, but it didn't take away from the fact that the creature was one of the most disgusting characters ever to appear on the show. For bonus disgusting points - Morgan had to wear the suit for extended periods, and couldn't take it off to go the the bathroom. Just use your imagination from there...
