Appeared in: Season 5, Episode 10 - "Chinga" Dolls are just inherently creepy, especially old-time-y ones. You know, porcelain dolls, anything with a painted face really. Now add in the concept of a demonic doll dreamed up by Stephen King. The outcome could be terrifying. King had expressed an interest in writing for the show after the first couple of years, which was by the fifth season a global phenomenon, and wound up doing this episode in conjunction with Chris Carter (the two never met face-to-face - drafts were sent back and forth between them), who re-wrote many of the Mulder and Scully moments in the episode. The doll itself, brought up from the depths by a fisherman and given to his daughter, winds up being an object of pure evil that acts almost as a conduit for its keeper, the young Polly Turner. What Polly wants, she seemingly gets thanks to the doll - only, things eventually get out of hand, with the doll being responsible for many deaths thanks to its ability to control people's actions (though not their minds). Uttering the eerie line "I want to play" whenever activated, the doll makes for one of the more downright scary creatures of the series.
