10. Felicity Huffman (Season 1, Episode 8: Ice)

On The X-Files: Originally airing on November 5, 1993, Ice sees Mulder and Scully traveling with a group of scientists to an Arctic research outpost to investigate the deaths of the team formerly stationed there. Tensions run high when they discover an organism that causes individuals to turn on one another. Felicity Huffman plays Dr. Nancy Da Silva, a scientist who ultimately proves the host of the organism as she tries to kill her companions. Most Memorable Moment: As the group tries to figure out who has been infested, Scully and Da Silva examine each other for the telltale nodules. How Felicity Huffman Made It Big: Huffman remained in supporting roles until she landed a lead on ABC's Sports Night in 1998. Although the show only lasted for two seasons, she would make a triumphant return to ABC with Desperate Housewives in 2002 as Lynette Scavo, a role for which she won an Emmy as Outstanding Lead Actress. 2005 saw Huffman hit it big in the movie circuit as she was nominated for an Academy Award for her portrayal of preoperative transsexual Bree in the indie film Transamerica.
