11 Things You Totally Missed In Friends

2. Their Changing Ages

All of the Friends start the series in the mid-20s, and the show charts the part of their life that involves moving into their 30s and truly growing-up. So, what are their exact ages? It's a bit of a confusing one.

For example, it's initially believed that Joey is the youngest, but then in later seasons it is revealed that he 'lost' an entire year when counting his age, which made Rachel the youngest. In the pilot episode Ross is 26, with Monica supposedly a couple of years younger, however a few episodes on she states that she is 26, which is obviously impossible.

Perhaps the best example is with Ross, who is 26 when the show starts. He describes himself as being 29 in season 3, which fits with the timeline, but then does it again in season 4 and season 5, meaning he's 29 for a very long time.

Phoebe is actually the eldest of the Friends (another character who has a 'missing' year revealed), followed by Ross and Chandler, then Joey, Monica, and finally Rachel as the youngest.
