11 Things You Totally Missed In Friends

6. I'm Wearing Two Belts

There were many (many many) memorable guest stars throughout all 10 seasons of Friends, including some absolutely A-list stars, such as Bruce Willis (who lost a bet with Matthew Perry) and Brad Pitt (who was married to one of the stars at the time). Another of the top drawer actors they got, especially in terms of talent, was Gary Oldman, who appeared in the episodes with Monica and Chandler's wedding.

As he gets increasingly drunk, one of the sentences that he manages to just about slur out (and of course still enunciate) is that he is "wearing two belts." It's a throwaway line, used to help show just how intoxicated he really is.

However, perhaps the writers were intoxicated too, as the joke is repeated a couple of seasons later, in The One With The Fertility Test. Joey is talking about not wanting to seem stupid to Charlie, to which Ross responds: "Are you wearing two belts?"

Another point of note is that the inspiration for the joke seems to have been Kevin S. Bright, a producer, who once turned up to work wearing... yep, two belts. The Kevin Special!
