Titans Season 2: 3 Ups & 3 Downs From 'E.L._.O.'
Downs...
3. The Separation Continues
Constantly flagging this up may have grown a bit repetitive, but believe this writer when he says that it's equally as repetitive to watch, and after this week's episode, it feels like the Titans are further apart than ever. Yes, finally it was the World's Greatest Detective himself, Bruce Wayne, who managed to draw four of the gang together with mysterious messages sent to Dawn, Rachel, Kory and Donna and, in doing so, talked some sense into them about separating at a time when they needed to unite.
Unfortunately, that talk was only partially successful because, as Rachel and Kory decided to go off and break Dick out of prison, Dawn and Donna thought saving Gar from Cadmus was more important. And to top it all off, the former two just missed Dick (who had somehow managed to escape from his cell in solitary confinement)... meaning that, yes, the writers toyed with us yet again.
As an isolated incident, this storyline makes sense - Dick is Batman's former protege so it's believable that he would be able to find his way out of prison, while Dawn and Donna's decision to rescue Gar because he was in more imminent danger was completely understandable. Unfortunately, it isn't an isolated incident and this whole throwing them back together to rip them apart thing is getting old really fast.
