Titans Season 2: 4 Ups & 2 Downs From 'Faux Hawk'

3. Hank's Character Arc

Titans Season 2 Dawn Granger Dove Hank Hall Hawk
DC Universe

In case the title of the episode didn't give it away, 'Faux Hawk' was essentially about Hank Hall's journey towards self-destruction without Dawn by his side - a journey that was full of cage fighting and drugs that ultimately reminded him of his own limitations and shortcomings.

Hank has always been an emotionally fragile character, so his arc was always destined to produce some authentic and emotional storytelling, and that's exactly what we got as the former hero soon learned that no amount of celebrity was worth his own sanity - and he learned it the hard way when he discovered that he no recollection of selling his Hawk suit to a teenage boy who would end up incriminating the hero in unlikely crimes.

Hank and Dawn's break-up a few weeks back was eye-rollingly predictable, but he had to rediscover how much he needed his partner by his side, and this was an incredibly effective method of getting him there. He knows it now, we know it now, everybody knows it now: Hank needs Dawn.
