Titans Season 2: 4 Ups & 3 Downs From ‘Jericho’

3. Robin Vs. Deathstroke

Let's just take some time to appreciate the grandeur of that final battle between Robin and Deathstroke, shall we? Fans of the comics (and the classic 2003 Teen Titans animated series) will know that Slade Wilson is to the Boy Wonder what The Joker is to Batman, and this episode did a fantastic job of conveying that as it built towards the final showdown between the pair.

The sight of Robin standing across from his masked nemesis was awe-inspiring enough but the battle that ensued was spectacular. With incredible fight choreography and a strong story driving it, we watched as the pair started off relatively evenly-matched, before Dick let his anger and emotions cloud his concentration.

It's really something to manage to get a story to play out through fight choreography, but that's exactly what 'Jericho' did here, as with each punch, strike and shot, we saw the last shreds of the hopeful Bird Boy slip away as he evolved into the rage-induced monster that we met in the first season. And what an amazing piece of television it was.
