Titans Season 2: 5 Ups & 1 Down From ‘Ghosts’

Down...

1. We're Asking The WRONG Questions

Titans Ghosts
DC Universe

Does Rose actually know that Dick Grayson is recruiting superheroes? If not, then why wouldn't she be more perturbed (or, at the very least, inquisitive) about the fact that Jason Todd was wearing a Robin suit? Does she even know who Jason is? After all, she did just introduce herself to Rachel - speaking of which, after being there for a few days, why is she only just introducing herself now? Wouldn't she have seen the gang before now - perhaps on the way back into the building after Dr. Light's attack?

Oh yes, Dr. Light - that brings us to the most baffling question of them all: Why would Dick, Hank, Dawn and Donna all confront an electric-powered murderer without their costumes?

Of course, you could go into the fact that perhaps the villain knows their secret identities due to his history with the Titans (which is already a stretch because he doesn't seem to know anything), but he could have killed them without their armour - and very nearly did. It's nice that the show attributes costumes as physical manifestations of these characters' alternate personas (especially in the cases of Dick and Hank), but is that a good enough reason for these characters to go out on a mission without them? Hell no.

Look, there's no denying that this was one of Titans' stronger episodes but it left viewers with a ton of unnecessary logic holes that were nothing more than plot conveniences. And, at the end of the day, if the writers want to keep us entertained, they need to ensure that we're asking questions about the narrative, not the logic.

Now, for the positives...
