Titans Season 2 Finale: 6 Ups & 5 Downs From ‘Nightwing’

1. Titans, Go!

There was something incredibly rewarding about seeing Dick find his true self as Nightwing by saving his friends, just as it was rewarding to see Hank return from his self-imposed exile to reunite with Dawn and the others. On top of that, it was nice to see Rose side with the Titans and Donna finally wear the Wonder Girl outfit in the present-day. And all of this felt so great because, finally, after all the unnecessary separation, the Titans had united.

Sure, the show may have inexplicably killed off one of the team's core members while temporarily writing out another one, but it's hard to deny that this was the most heroic the show has felt since it began with those broody episodes all the way back in Season 1. Just as Bruce Wayne reminded us, the Titans are a family - and they're stronger together. On that note, so is the show.

It's well-documented just how much Titans absolutely loves splitting its core heroes up before finding some dramatic world-changing event to throw them back together, but this one felt different. Yes, the sight of Nightwing leading Hawk, Dove, Ravager, Superboy, Starfire, Beast Boy and Krypto down the street in a nostalgic but triumphant Batman Forever-like finale suggests that, after two long seasons, the Titans are united. And if there's anything we can take away from that, it's hope for Season 3.
