Titans Season 2 Premiere: 7 Ups & 2 Downs From 'Trigon'
Downs...
2. The CGI
As awesome as it was to see Trigon transform into his true demonic self, the entire feeling of dread that the scene was supposed to generate was somewhat undercut by the questionable CGI.
The render itself was actually pretty decent, but the moment that the CGI demon began moving, things got stilted and rather hard-to-buy - and this only succeeded in taking viewers out of the scene (instead of reeling us in).
Look, we get it. No matter how epic Titans is, it's still a TV show - and that means that we should never have expected blockbuster-level CGI. That said, it's a streaming service show and, in a day and age in which Netflix can produce convincing Demogorgons and Mind Flayers for its shows, it's understandable that fans would have expected a little more from the DC Universe for Trigon.
