True Blood: 5 Best And 5 Worst Stories

4. Marnie And The Whole Witches Storyline

True Blood Marnie In season 4 we were introduced to witches, which were the main villains of the season. The main enemy/witch being 'Marnie' played by Fiona Shaw. The storyline started with Marnie being lonely and cautious and being possessed by a Spanish witch from hundreds of years ago. In turn Marnie became the true villain, with the Spanish witch trying to leave. Fiona Shaw, who everybody thought would be amazing in this role was Abysmal with a capital A. Her accents were all over the place, she only needed an American and a Spanish but we ended up with tonnes of different accents, distracting the viewer. Her death in episode 11 drew cheers, but then she had to possess Lafayette! The brilliant Lafayette actually played Marnie infinitely better than Fiona Shaw did, which, if you've seen Marnie on the show, you know isn't too difficult! But Nelsan Ellis played her brilliant, making it dark, twisted a bit loopy, if only he could have been possessed from episode one then season 4 might not have been the worst season of the show to date!
