True Blood Final Season: 10 Favourite Characters Who Could Die

4. Jessica Hamby

Young, beautiful, fierce, loving, loyal, and a much-loved fan favorite. This translates into a death sentence in cable television speak. Raised in a devoutly religious household, Jessica was turned into a vampire by Bill back at the end of season one. Since that time she has had her ups and downs, learning many of the lessons of her supernatural benefits and burdens the hard way. Through it all she has managed to mature and grow as a woman and as a vampire. Jessica was last seen attempting to make reparations with Andy for the irrational bloodlust murder of his three hybrid daughters. When Andy sees her at the door, he points his shotgun at her chest, suspicious of her motives with young Adilyn sitting nearby on the couch. Jessica assures him she has learned to control herself and is only there to protect them from the dangers of the new post-Hep V world. She does not resist when Andy raises the gun to her chest, but though she is willing to die, he cannot shoot. Instead, he shuts the door in her face, leaving her alone in the cold night. A shutting door is an appropriate metaphor for Jessica€™s arc in the final season as we predict one will certainly close on her character€™s life before the end credits. Jessica has touched the lives of all those she has met in Bon Temps, for the better and worse, and her ability to learn from her mistakes has endeared her to the characters and the fans alike. Her rebellious streak could lead her into a situation she is not prepared to handle, or perhaps her lingering spiritual beliefs could play into the end game with the return of Reverend Skinner and the show€™s ambivalent use of religion as a causal or intentional mechanism.
