True Detective: 5 Crazy Theories On How It Will End

4. Marty's Daughter Is Involved

Something is going on with Audrey, Marty's eldest daughter. In 1995, when she was a child, we know that she drew people having sex in her notebook, and she even depicts a masked man, which obviously hints at the mysterious cult, and animal masks pop up in her other drawings as well. And then there's the toy dolls... What's it all about? She certainly remained quiet when her parents interrogated her. In another scene, we see her wearing a ribboned crown €“ much like the crown the girl wears in the disturbing rape video Rust shows Marty years later. The hints are there: has Audrey seen something? What happened to her in 1995? Whatever it was led to her risky sexual behaviour in the car and an apparent drug problem after that. It's plausible this is all due to the fact that Marty isn't a very good father - the signs are certainly there - but it's just as likely that Audrey has been involved with or come into contact with the killers in some way. Will a terrible fate befall her in the series finale? Is she going to be next?
