True Detective Season 2 Trailer: 10 Things You Need To Know

5. Real Estate Is Important

Now that sounds boring on paper, but just hear the show out. What really broke the case in the first season was interviewing an old lady and then looking through a load of old boxes, and see where that got them? Running around a terrifying labyrinth whilst a crazed inbred hillbilly cultist threatened to send Matthew McConaughey to a fictional purgatory from a decades-old story by the guy who wrote An Occurrence At Owl Creek Bridge. It's not where you start. It's where you end up. So, yes, it looks like real estate may indeed be playing a big part in the plot of True Detective season 2, with Vince Vaughn's character doing some dodgy deals, working with corrupt politicians to push through €œa high-speed railway system€ that would run along the coast of California bringing business in its wake. Presumably involving snatching up some land which isn't necessarily his to snatch up. Said land possibly also being where the murder that kicks off the whole plot of the season take places. Anyway, you know it's going to be important because there's lots of lingering shots of maps and aerial views of the city and stuff. Maybe this is all just a stealth remake of Blazing Saddles...
