Twin Peaks: 10 Characters That Must Return For Season 3
10. The Log Lady
Why should The Log Lady of all characters come back to Twin Peaks? Because she perfectly represents the vibe of the show. She's a character that let everyone know what you were watching was like nothing else on TV. She's funny, but with a mysterious and darker side to her. After starting out as more of an odd visual gag, as the show progressed the Log Lady became an interesting character. As the writers dug into her past, you could even sympathise with her odd tendency to carry a hunk of wood around with her wherever she goes. Turns out her husband was killed the night of their wedding, and perhaps her log actually has some sort of connection to the spirit world. There's still a lot left of her character to explore. Actress Catherine E. Coulson is still active in acting with appearances in recent years on Pysch and Portlandia, along with work in some independent films. You can tell that Lynch is a fan of the character she portrayed, as when the show was syndicated on Bravo, he wrote new opening introductions just for her. After Coulson revealed involvement in the show late last year, expect The Log Lady to show up, with log in hand of course, when Twin Peaks returns.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
