Umbrella Academy: 10 Things Season 2 Must Include
5. More Eras
As mentioned in the first entry, The Umbrella Academy’s first season skipped ahead of the comics to throw Klaus into Vietnam. While we saw the profound affect this had on him, but we didn’t see anywhere near enough of him in action.
War sets are notoriously expensive and difficult, and the jungle of Vietnam makes it one of the tougher conflicts to film anyway. Whether we’ll ever see much of Klaus in his actual active service then is unlikely. That doesn’t mean era hopping as a whole needs to stop though.
Obviously time and chronology is going to have a huge influence on the plot going forwards. Considering the colourful nature of the Umbrella Academy, there’s a lot of eras they could have a lot of fun in.
The JFK part of the Dallas storyline would mean exploring the 1960s, while Number Five has copious experience in other eras and might have a hideout somewhere (or somewhen) for them to go too.
The Umbrella Academy has set itself up brilliantly, putting almost no boundaries in place going into the next season. It’ll be a blast seeing where it goes next.
