Once Upon A Time: 10 Characters We Need To See In Season 4 (And Who Should Play Them)
8. Tiana
Who They Are: A simple way to return some of the fairy tale aspects to the series is to bring in Tiana, who is closer to the traditional fairy tale roots than a lot of characters they might want to bring in. And we all know how much the Once producers love a hard luck tale, so Tiana fits the bill perfectly. As character who aspires to be something greater, she fits in well with a lot of the Once cast. The show is all about heroism and overcoming adversity, so Tiana would be an excellent fit. Tiana might also bring a nice sense of fun and excitement to the show, as you could incorporate elements from the film into the story of Once. An episode devoted to her adventures as a frog, and the ongoing relationship with Prince Naveen would be massively fun to see. Tie it in with the actual mythology of the show, where she can begin interacting with Emma and the gang, and you're golden. Who Should Play Them:
Samantha Logan previously starred in the ABC mystery/drama series 666 Park Avenue, where she played Nona. She's a gifted actress, combining understated wit and natural charisma. Physically, she bears a very striking resemblance to the Disney princess, and would ace the part on looks alone. But as we are not just concerned about looks, and whether they can pull off the same spirit of the character that we love, Logan will have to bring her a-game in order to spark life into Tiana. It's not an easy task, as Tiana is one of the more rich and complex Disney princesses of recent memory. As the character felt incredibly real and dynamic, it's something that Logan would have to tap into on a primal level, but having cut her teeth on 666 Park Avenue and is starting to expand her list of credits, this could be her defining role.
