Once Upon A Time: 10 Characters We Need To See In Season 4 (And Who Should Play Them)

3. The Headless Horseman

Who They Are: As one of the most well known characters in all of literature, the Headless Horseman has been adapted and re-adapted for centuries. From the story originally written by Washington Irving in 1820, he's been showcased in feature-length movies and even a tv series on FOX, and remains a mythological icon. If the Once producers got a hold of him for season four, the Horseman would be a spectacular addition to the series. His original back story as a solder who was beheaded during the Revolutionary War would likely be given an alteration, probably as a member of Regina's soldiers in the Enchanted Forest who met a bad end at her hand. Whatever Kitsis and Horowitz were to dream up for him, it would connect him squarely with one of the regulars, allowing him to fit right in. He's a no-brainer for a series that is now intent on exploring the redemption of its greatest villain, by bringing in even more of her dark past we don't know about. Who Should Play Them:
As the man known as Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Tom Hiddleston is a spot-on choice for the Headless Horseman. Since the Horseman probably wouldn't be a simple antagonist with a singular desire to reclaim his head, it stands reason that you'd want an actor that could carry the depth of it all. Hiddleston is no stranger to playing villains, crafting a picture perfect rendition of Loki throughout the Marvel films. You can often see the fire in Hiddleston's eyes, as if he feels the character and their emotional anguish so purely, which makes him a flawless choice for the Horseman.
