Vikings: 10 Most Hated Supporting Characters
7. Tanaruz
During a raid in Algeciras, Halfdan and Harald slaughter a young couple, orphaning their Moorish daughter, Tanaruz. Since Helga was heartbroken about losing her child at the time, she and Floki took the girl to Kattegat, raising her as their own.
Unfortunately, Tanaruz had been left so traumatised, she refused to eat or speak. Helga assumed the girl would recover in time, unaware that Tanaruz associated Kattegat's people with her parents' murder.
Sadly, Helga only learned this in her final moments. As the pair fled while inside a castle, a burning beam fell in front of them, spooking Tanaruz. As Helga tried to reassure her, Tanaruz plunged a dagger into her neck, fatally wounding her. She then buried the blade into her own chest and killed herself, hoping to reunite with her mother and father in the afterlife.
Even though Tanaruz's actions were caused by trauma, it's hard not to hate her. In her mind, killing Helga was her way of exacting revenge. But since Helga played no part in the raid which killed Tanaruz's parents, her murder served no purpose.
