Vikings: Each Main Character Ranked From Worst To Best
6. Rollo
The marmite character of the show is Rollo. On the one hand
he is a man that constantly betrayed his family and friends. On the other, he
is someone that seized an opportunity and forged his own destiny. Either way,
he is a great cast member.
Upon first meeting Rollo you quickly realise that he is bitterly jealous of his brother. The plot thickens when he is constantly offered chances to betray him. Sometimes he is with Ragnar and other times he isn’t. It is difficult to keep track but deep down you know, he has a great deal of love for his little brother.
A strong soldier in battle, Rollo proves his worth during the siege of Paris. It is the events after this for which he is infamously remembered. As a Rollo fan, it is difficult to defend the massacre of his comrades outside of Paris and abandonment of his brother. He has highs and lows and this is most certainly his low point.
That being said, the man he becomes afterwards is something to be admired. He eventually wins his wife over and becomes an honourable Duke.
Rollo will always remain in his little brother’s shadow but the same can be said about most men. Unlike those men, Rollo will always have the victory over him at Paris to brag about plus Bjorn may well be his too. SCORE.
