Aside from The Governor, Negan is one of the most popular antagonists from The Walking Dead's decade long history and many were disappointed when the villain behind the beginning of Season 5 was revealed to be Gareth instead. As the group are likely to arrive soon at the Alexandria Safe-Zone, it's only a matter of time before Negan finally raises his head. Kirkman himself has already revealed that plans are in motion to eventually introduce the villain to the show and the second half of Season 5 seems like the perfect time to do that. While Rick will only turn to violence as a last resort, Negan actively takes joy in causing pain to others, often through the use of a barbed wire baseball bat that he affectionately refers to as Lucille. With his Saviors in tow, Negan takes over other people's settlements, offering 'protection' in exchange for supplies and authority over the survivors. Inevitably, Negan's sadistic outlook will cause a world of pain for Rick's group and if the show-runners stay true to the comics, things are going to turn bad for Glenn very quickly.
