The Walking Dead: 10 Predictions For The Rest Of Season 5
8. The Whisperers
Now that the cannibals at Terminus have been taken care of and the Grady Memorial Hospital storyline has come to a close, the show-runners will need to introduce a new threat to Rick's group. As if a world overrun by the undead wasn't enough to content with. In the comics, a new group was recently introduced who refer to themselves as The Whisperers. These creepy survivors wear the skin of the deceased to walk unharmed among the undead. This has proven to be an effective survival mechanism in the show before, but The Whisperers take this a step further by even wearing masks made of human skin. As if that wasn't bad enough, the cult actively hunt and kill survivors for their own mysterious means. Some fans have begun to speculate that Morgan Jones may have hinted at this new menace as far back as Season 3 in Clear, ranting about people wearing dead peoples faces. While Morgan was certainly deranged at this point, it's possible that Rick's savior could have been referring to The Whisperers during one of this missions away from home, perhaps even leaving his sanctuary due to their arrival. Fans may contest that The Whisperers are a relatively new addition to The Walking Dead mythos who appeared long after this Season 3 episode aired, but it's entirely possible that series creator Robert Kirkman could have slipped this idea in before eventually introducing the cult in the comics. In terms of series chronology, The Whisperers should be far in the future of the TV show, but the program doesn't always follow the comics in such a strict fashion and the group's likely journey to Washington could be the perfect starting point to introduce them.
