The Walking Dead: 10 Predictions For The Rest Of Season 5

7. Rick Takes Things Too Far

The zombie apocalypse hasn't been particularly kind to Rick. After losing his wife Lori back in Season 3, everyone's favourite bearded police officer just hasn't been the same. Rick may no longer be insane and has now regained both the command and respect of the group, but the honest, kind-hearted man from the shows debut has suffered a fall from grace, willing to kill others in cold blood to protect his own. Events from early on in Season 5 confirmed this descent into psychosis, where Rick quickly realised that it's impossible to survive if they let the cannibals from Terminus live after the church invasion. Combine this with the aftermath of the Grady Memorial Hospital incident and it's clear that Rick will no longer be able to stick to his once black-and-white morals to keep his group alive in the future. Things are looking increasingly bleak for the survivors after the death of Beth and the revelation that Eugene was lying about a cure, so the next step is simply survival once more. The group are guaranteed to encounter more danger on their travels and it's inevitable that Rick will now respond in the only way he knows how - with no mercy. Having no place left to call home, Rick's already fragile psychosis may break once more in the near future, turning the group's leader into a cold-blooded killer devoid of remorse. Pity the survivors who go up against Rick and his team next. Let's hope that other characters on the show can retain at least some of their humanity in order to offset Rick's inevitable moral decline. Next thing you know, he'll kill Carl for never taking off that damn hat and eat the remains for dinner.
