The Walking Dead: 11 Actors In Surprising Early Roles

2. Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes) €“ Love Actually

In Love Actually, Mark €“ played by Andrew Lincoln as the quiet best-man who is secretly infatuated by his mate€™s fiancé €“ is about as useless in the ways of love as his character in The Walking Dead, Rick. His love for this forbidden woman bubbles over at Christmas where he silently expresses his love with a series of Bob Dylan-esque cue cards before walking off into the snowy night €“ clearly this film wouldn€™t be your average Walking Dead fan€™s cup of tea. He gets a nice Christmas kiss from this painstakingly organised gesture, but that's it. Thankfully the leader of the survivors isn€™t as soppy as Mark in Love Actually (he wouldn€™t last very long if he was), though he seems equally incapable at having a happy love life. Indeed, perhaps to punish him for his attempted indiscretions against his friend in Love Actually, Andre Lincoln€™s character€™s wife Lori cheats on him with his best mate. Karmas a bitch, eh? Ever since his loss of Lori, Rick hasn't seemed the same person. The physically damaged leader seems to bare just as much emotional damage and kept seeing eerie visions of his dead wife dotted around the prison. Having now been captured and imprisoned by the hunters, Rick will need to pick up the gauntlet thrown at him by the cannibals and become the motivating leader and skilled tactician he once was.
