The Walking Dead: 13 Things That Make No Damn Sense

6. Lori Being Spotlessly Devoured

Walking Dead Say The Word One of the most shocking episodes of the Walking Dead thus far has been 'Killer Within' where thanks to Andrew, everything went t*ts-up at the prison. Shocked that Rick left him outside to die, he foists some walkers on our hapless survivors and set off some alarms. In the ensuing ruckus, T-Dog bites the dust, Carol gets separated from the group and most tragically of all, an in-labour Lori €“ cut off from all medical help €“ dies following a traumatic caesarean. Rick discovers this at episode close, and is understandably traumatised. So when it comes to the next episode (Say The Word), Rick needs closure and nothing grants that like seeing his dead wife's corpse. Unfortunately, when he arrives in the room where Lori breathed her last, she's gone, and not in the 'she's-been-moved' way. The show makes it clear that a Walker ate her and is now sitting down, engorged. Aside from the revelation that Walkers have appetites which can be sated for a time, this doesn't make sense. Firstly €“ and pardon me for being crude €“ that Walker's not just eaten her flesh, it's eaten everything, bones included. Now, bearing in mind that she probably weighs as much as the Walker, that's an incredible achievement which would result in something far more than a bloated stomach. Even though the walker is a supernatural being, looking at it you can see that there's no possible way it could spotlessly consume an average-sized pregnant woman without leaving more traces than a small puddle. To his credit, Greg Nicotero attempted to explain this discrepancy by saying that Lori had been dragged off-shot, but like Bender lighting his cigar underwater, that just raises further questions. The problem is that there's no drag marks, and anyway €“ when did walkers start dragging folk off? They're not vampires €“ they're ostensibly stupid creatures who feast when they can.
