The Walking Dead: 4 Things "Consumed" Got Right (And 6 It Didn't)
4. Also: Zombie Sleepover
Consumed was a great episode in general for the human characters, but one of the worst for the walkers. They were generally ineffectual as they have been through this whole season of The Walking Dead, but an especially comical scene really hit that home. In what was probably supposed to be a really striking, haunting image that stuck with viewers, Carol and Daryl storm into a corridor which, it turns out, is full of walkers. Except the poor things are stuck in their sleeping bags and tents. Aw. That it not a scary image. That is comical. Dawn Of The Dead levels of comical. You might as well have them falling into water fountains or dressed as Hare Krishnas at this point. That wasn't terrifying, didn't make the walkers feel like a monster to be feared: they looked like idiotic toddlers who couldn't figure out their most basic motor functions, struggling adorably to reach up and have a nibble of a redneck except, woops! He just shoved a knife through their brains. Hilarious. Probably not meant to be.
