4. Something New Entirely

Let's be honest: if there were prizes for guessing the outcome of Walking Dead episodes, most of them would still be sitting on shelves waiting to be won. Kirkman and the crew behind the AMC smash-hit are almost provocatively committed to defying fan expectations and fan desires: characters are killed off prematurely when their survival in the comics seems to protect them from the chop, and entirely new characters appear to destabilise any kind of comfort fans of the comic book series might have. Given how important Daryl has become as a character, despite his not being in the comics universe at all, it is not a major stretch to imagine that Kirkman and co would simply create a whole new event and location for the show that doesn't tie into the comics at all. The Hints It's hard not to feel like everything so far has been misdirection. The show has consciously defied expectations in the hope of keeping everything fresh, and stopping fans getting comfortable, and there is every chance that Terminus is completely brand new in order to fire up speculation anew of what will come next in story terms.
