The Walking Dead Season 5: 10 Things We Learned From The New Trailer

2. Mission: Washington D.C.

Season 4 saw the introduction of three characters with one very big storyline: a mission to deliver a scientist with a cure for the zombie virus to Washington D.C. and restore the world to the domain of the living rather than the dead. Now, as the person with the purported cure is a man who refuses to share his knowledge with anybody and who sports a mullet by choice, many fans believe that Eugene is not quite the esteemed researcher that Abraham believes him to be. Nevertheless, a quest to the capital will take the survivors out of Georgia for the first time in the show's run and provide some fresh material to cover.
From what we see in the trailer, the Terminus catastrophe was but a detour on the road to D.C. Abraham clearly intends to continue the trip north, and the Team Prison survivors intend to go with him. Why not? They can't keep stumbling upon random caches of pickled pigs' feet and pudding forever, and even rural Georgia will run out of moonshine eventually. Conflict will arise as Rick and Abraham disagree about the importance of the group vs. the ASAP completion of the mission, and possibly with tragic consequences.
