WandaVision: 8 Characters Who Could Still Make A Shocking Appearance
7. Magneto
Pietro isn't the only character from the X-Men universe that Wanda Maximoff has family ties to, as her father in the comics is none other than Erik Lehnsherr (at least most of the time). Though Jimmy Woo confirmed Wanda's MCU parents were Irina and Oleg Maximoff, that doesn't necessarily rule out an appearance from Magneto.
Thanks to rights issues, the two characters have never met on screen before, but with the X-Men property now back under the Marvel Studios umbrella, having Magneto appear in WandaVision would make perfect sense.
As reiterated by Woo in episode five, Wanda's parents were killed in Sokovia when the twins were very young, but there could be any number of ways to reconnect them. Much like Jean Grey's father in Dark Phoenix, it could be that Wanda's father never truly perished, and while it would be surprising to alter Magneto's true name in the MCU, it wouldn't be the weirdest change the franchise has made to a character.
More likely is the potential revelation that Wanda and Pietro were adopted, as they were in the comics, and that Erik Lehnsherr is in fact their real father. Whichever way the series approaches such a monumental moment, having Magneto, either Sir Ian McKellen or Michael Fassbender's iterations, would be a huge deal for both WandaVision and for the wider MCU going forward.
