WandaVision Episode 5 EXPLAINED - Losing Control & MCU Multiverse Madness

2. Lagos Paper Towels

Now this isn't nearly as complex as some of the previous discussion points, but we all love the WandaVision ads!

It seems safe to say at this point that the ads are based off of Wanda's traumas manifesting themselves into her broadcast. Whether this is the sound of a missile coming from a Stark Industries toaster, or a paper towel named after the location where she caused deaths of innocents, these little digs at Wanda's past are delighting viewers at the same time as making us a little bit sad.

This one was just too perfect: the slogan, "For when you made a mess and didn't mean to!" is so on the nose. It seems almost like these subconscious leaks are letting out bits of memory she doesn't know she has. Surely she would choose to make light of her own mistakes and wrongdoings, especially given how tightly she wants to keep control over everything else.

In the comics, Agatha Harkness casts a spell to help Wanda forget her traumas (including the loss of her children). Is it possible here that something similar has happened, and that each of these ads are a glimpse into her darkest memories that she otherwise can't access?
