Westworld Season 1: 7 Ups And 3 Downs From 'Chestnut'

2. Theresa And Bernard Together Seems Unnecessary

As far as characters on the show go, Theresa is one of them that I'm least invested in right now. In the first episode she was mostly seen conspiring with Lee, and the pair have a similar scene here that does nothing to change opinion.

More surprising, however, is when it's revealed she is having a physical relationship with Bernard - and it is solely physical right now, with no talking between the pair, and as far as it appears not much beyond a sexual desire exists there.

While there's always the chance to develop, it comes across as a very random part of this episode, and doesn't really add anything to it. It doesn't make Theresa more interesting or likeable, and it doesn't bring any more complexity to Bernard, who is a fine character without this. As I say, it could head somewhere interesting, but right now feels like a needless distraction.
