Westworld Season 2: 10 Crucial Things That MUST Happen
8. The Man In Black Must Ride On
The multiple timelines of the show’s first season was one of the more mind-blowing twists to be revealed to dumbstruck audiences (at least to those who hadn’t already figured it out) in the finale.
As it transpired, the cold and ruthless Man in Black that we’d followed across the desert from a safe distance was one and the same with the initially moral and sympathetic park guest William, his past self.
Last seen in the present under heavy fire from the now dangerous hosts, William’s position is precarious heading into the second season. And yet, as the obsessive majority shareholder of Westworld, it seems unlikely both that his story is at an end and that the show is done exploring the past.
As the hosts get set to wage war on park guests who have suddenly become prey, all eyes are on The Man in Black who’ll surely play a key role in the coming conflict. With the present in chaos, it’ll also be of paramount importance to delve more into William’s gradual metamorphosis as he came to gain increasing influence over Delos Incorporated, the institution that corrupted him for good.
