Westworld Season 2 Premiere: 7 Ups And 3 Downs From 'Journey Into Night'

5. Journey Into Wyatt

Westworld Season 2
HBO

Last season, Dolores said that she "imagined a story where I didn’t have to be the damsel."

Well, imagine no longer, because her transformation into Wyatt is complete. Gone is the sweet-as-pie farmer's daughter, replaced by a cold, hardened leader ready to take the hosts into a new world. The two couldn't be more different, yet Evan Rachel Wood does a wonderful job of switching between them and making both feel equally convincing and compelling.

It's here, too, we get much of the episode's action, and it's again nice to see everything flipped on its head with a host being the one gunning people down. The violence here feels like it has real purpose to the story and the character of Dolores/Wyatt, rather than the more senseless kind of Season 1, and that too is great to see.
