Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman was a soap-opera retelling to DC Comics' most famous superhero. Throughout the show, it was made clear that the titular characters couldn't have children together due to Superman's Kryptonian DNA. In the last episode, Lois and Clark are in bed when they suddenly hear cries from downstairs. As they walk into the living room, they find a newborn baby wrapped in a blanket with Superman's family crest. A note beside the baby's crib states that "This child belongs to you."

And that was it. We never learn anything else about how this baby came to be. According to the producer, Brad Buckner, Lois and Clark would learn in the next season that the baby was of Kryptonian royalty and was hidden by the queen. They would then have to protect the child from assassins and enemies of Krypton.

Within months, the child would age ten years and develop superpowers. In the end, he would tell his adopted parents he had to leave them in order to protect his people. This ending would have served as a reference to how Clark Kent left his adopted parents in Smallville to become a superhero in Metropolis.
