Along with the deaths of five of Earth’s original Mightiest Heroes came the mystery throughout the episode of who was behind it. The audience was kept guessing from start to finish, with the list of characters able to even commit such acts being relatively short, however no one would have guessed the actual murderer.

Hank Pym has had issues with the Starks in his time, and has proven himself a dangerous man as his Pym Particle technology was almost used to create an army of Yellowjackets. However, never before has he been close to the kinds of acts that the loss of his daughter drove him to in this reality.

As an Agent of SHIELD, Hope van Dyne was killed in action. For this Hank blamed Nick Fury and the entire SHIELD organisation, allowing his grief to send him into a spiral of depression and desperation. Wanda did something similar in WandaVision, however no one could have expected Pym to take out the Avengers all by himself.

The reveal in the graveyard was haunting, as Pym was a haggard shadow of his former self, with dark rings around his eyes. A classic sign of an MCU villain.
