What If? Marvel Zombies - 10 Things You Need To Know

2. Reed Richards Deliberately Infected His Family

What If Marvel Zombies
Marvel Comics

As monstrous as the Marvel Zombies, some of the human characters are somehow even more despicable and wicked. The one-shot comic, Marvel Zombies: Dead Days, details how the superheroes dealt with the virus immediately after it infected the world. Although most people tried to fight the infected or went into hiding, several scientists like Reed Richards sought a cure.

But as Reed researched the virus more and more, his priorities shifted. He found the undead creatures so efficient, he considered them superior to humans. Believing the zombies were the next step in evolution, he deliberately infected the Fantastic Four with the virus.

Reed then alerted his friends that children would have no place in this new world since zombies couldn't procreate. As a result, Reed murdered his and Sue's kids, stating that 'our species will survive without reproduction'. Enraged, the Fantastic Four bit Reed, turning him into a zombie - a fate he gleefully accepted.

Even though the gore in this saga can be excessive and expletive, it's moments like this that make you feel sick to your stomach.
