The third of the cast to no longer be with us, and the most recently departed. Though most famous for her role as Martin Prince - he was her most evocative and funniest character, after all - she did voice quite a few of the Springfield Elementary cast. Well, most famous on The Simpsons; over her career, it was Minnie Mouse Taylor was best known for.
Unlike Marcia Wallace and Phil Hartman though, Taylor has been recast, with the new Martin voice appearing in Hail To The Teeth, a recent Season 31 episode that revisited the classic ‘Lisa needs braces’ storyline.
Springfield Elementary is a bit of an under appreciated part of the show, and while there are zanier characters elsewhere, some of the best character moments happen with the kids at school. Russi Taylor and the dynamic she was able to build with the main cast was a huge part of that. Whoever steps into her shoes will have a big job on their hands.
