What The Simpsons Voice Actors Look Like In Real Life
9. Maggie Roswell (Helen Lovejoy)
Additional Voices: Maude Flanders, Miss Hoover, LuAnn Van Houten
Though Maggie Roswell is the voice of Maude Flanders, she wasn’t the original one. Prior to being killed off by barrage of t-shirts, Maude was voiced by Marcia Mitzman Gaven. It’s only in subsequent flashback or ghostly appearances where Roswell’s been at the helm.
Elsewhere though, she’s been consistently voicing the supporting ladies of Springfield.
Though none of her characters are anybody’s favourite, they’re a crucial piece of what makes Springfield tick. Part of The Simpsons’ charm is how developed the extra cast is, so Roswell’s work is invaluable in that regard.
Helen Lovejoy, Miss Hoover and LuAnn Van Houten all have such different personalities and vocal styles, so it’s testament to Maggie Roswell how well she’s blended her characters into the general make up of Springfield.
