What We Do In The Shadows - 10 Best Episodes So Far

Back in Nandor The Relentless's time political power could be seized at the blade of a sword. These days it's all discussions, debates and bureaucracy, things for which Nandor and his brethren of the night are hopelessly ill prepared.

After an episode of setup, the Shadows TV show really got going in part two when the vampires tried to take action on The Baron's directive to seize control of the New World. Unfortunately they decide to approach this by raising their list of demands - including a dome to block out the sun and "nun free areas" - to the functionaries of the City Council.

While Nandor takes the direct course of putting one of the council members under his hypnotic spell, Laszlo takes a more roundabout approach that perfectly demonstrates how little the vampires understand about human society. Hearing the head of the council complain about raccoons in her garbage, the vampire slaughters a bunch of them and leaves their corpses on her doorstep. The response is not what he was hoping for.

At least pontificating at local government zoning meetings leaves Colin Robinson absolutely in his tedious element. So there's one character who's happy at the end of the day.
