Why Supergirl Just Got Cancelled

4. The Arrival Of Superman & Lois

This one's a little out there, but fans who are bitter at the show's impending conclusion couldn't help but notice the fact that Supergirl will be bowing out just as Superman & Lois arrives. Yes, they will share one season together on the network but, given that the Girl of Steel's show won't be returning at the same time as the others, it's hard to deduce if the titular stars will be able to interact at all moving forward.

Superman's history in the Arrowverse has been particularly interesting because CBS wasn't allowed to use the character on Supergirl and thus, made reference to him via an internet messaging system and threw in a CGI Supes for the heck of it. When the show moved to The CW, however, they wasted little time and introduced the Man of Steel in the very first episode.

Tyler Hoechlin's Superman has been received incredibly well by fans and many have been calling for him to get his own show for years. Now that it's finally on the horizon, some fans have suggested that the new Kryptonian series could have been one of the main reasons behind the network's decision to end Supergirl.

The notion that the network was only ever really interested in Superman is preposterous because they never would have spent the time, money or effort making Supergirl the success that it is today if that was their intention - not-to-mention the fact they could have ended it with Season 5 if that was the plan - but it does leave you wondering if The CW just wasn't big enough for two expensive Kryptonians.

Either way, let's just hope Superman & Lois can do Supergirl justice by carrying on her incredible legacy.
