Why Supergirl Just Got Cancelled

1. It's Time

Supergirl Season 5
The CW

With all of that in mind, one can't help but feel that the time is right for Supergirl to conclude.

Rumor has it that the cast were only contracted for six seasons, so with everything happening right now, it's only natural for everyone involved to consider their options. Should they carry on in an uncertain time and run the risk of facing more delays and further ratings declines or should they end now when the show - and all involved in it - can go out on an unbelievable high?

Does Supergirl still have plenty of stories left to tell? Absolutely, and it's a darn shame that it won't be telling them - especially when the show has the potential to be the very best of the Arrowverse - but it's also had an amazing run that both captivated audiences and inspired them. And that's an incredible legacy that we will always hold onto.

It's been one heck of a journey but, taking everything into account, the time is right for Supergirl to bow out - and there's no doubt that she will do so with grace and honour... but not before taking us on one more unforgettable adventure!
