Young Justice: Outsiders - 4 Ups & 2 Downs From The Season 3 Finale
Downs...
2. Too Many Characters
One of the biggest issues with the finale stemmed from its inability to focus on any characters outside of Brion, Tara and Violet, and that, in a way, is a microcosm of the entire season.
Now, while those characters have proven to be great additions to the show, they shouldn't be so at the expense of everything that made Young Justice what it was in the first place.
Sure, one of the three episodes set aside time for an in-depth look at Artemis' lingering grief over Wally, while also making time for other newcomer Forager, but the fact of the matter is that, as long as the Outsiders got top billing, the show couldn't directly focus on any of the original characters for an extended period of time.
The third season has been taking its cues from Season 2 and, as the finale proved, it's managed to recreate some of its mistakes. Perhaps next season, it should consider emulating the grounded, character-driven feel of the show's debut offering.
