All season, we have been teased with snippets of Beast Boy's new life as a TV star (the result of his new high-profile role in TV series Space Trek 3016). While they proved to be enjoyable, they shed little to no light on how Garfield Logan transitioned from superhero to sci-fi star. Well, we finally got the answers we needed in the third of this week's adventures, 'Nightmare Monkeys'.

Upon falling into a trap at the hands of Granny Goodness' VR Goggles, Garfield ended up in a mental daze where he was forced to relive all the tragedy that took place in his life. Throughout the episode, we discovered that he gave up being a superhero in the aftermath of Wally West's death and had turned to TV as it was a way for him to be close to his mother (who played the titular character in sitcom Hello, Megan! decades earlier) and, as a result, turned away from being a superhero. However, by overcoming the mental trap, he overcame both his fear and his doubts and, in turn, reminded himself that he still had in it him to be a hero.

Beast Boy played quite a major role in Season 2 and his link to both Hello, Megan! and Miss Martian ensured that his backstory became one of the show's best-developed storylines. So it's only fitting that he continued to develop throughout Season 3 and, in doing so, rediscover the hero that he was always destined to be. Now that he's back in the business of saving people, we should hopefully see a lot more of him in the second half of the season.
