Young Justice: Outsiders - 5 Ups & 1 Down From The Midseason Finale

1. More Than Meets The Meta

All season long, the team (and its newcomers) have been searching for Princess Tara of Markovia - the sister of Prince Brion and the first child possessing the Meta-Gene to be kidnapped. So, it was only fitting that the midseason finale involved an impromptu rescue mission during which the team set off to Greater Bialya with the intention of finally rescuing Tara. To Brion's overwhelming happiness, that's exactly what they did, in what proved to be a surprisingly easy mission - one that seemed almost too easy. Then the twist came.

Waking up early in the morning, the recently rescued Tara sent a text to Deathstroke, telling him that she was "in". Just like that, everything became clear: she wasn't a broken young girl forced to do horrible things by the League, she was a secret agent working for the League with the sole intention of infiltrating and destroying the one team that has plagued The Light for seven years.

Of course, this suggests that we may indeed be seeing the show adapt the acclaimed Judas Contract storyline from the comics, but how will the fact that Brion is a part of the team she's trying to destroy from the inside change things up? Will Tara's love for her brother be able to pull her away from the dark side, or will she be able to fulfil the League (and presumably The Light's) long-term goals?

Either way, this was a painfully good cliffhanger that promises to take the second half of the season in a bold new direction. Young Justice has always handled family matters incredibly well, so this should be no different.

Now, for the negative...
