Young Justice: Outsiders - 6 Ups & 2 Downs From The Season 3 Premiere

4. Another Time Jump

Much like it did between its first two seasons, Young Justice took another time jump for 'Outsiders' - a decision that has proven to be a wise choice. Picking up two years after 'Invasion' has resulted in many important story moves taking place off-screen and this ultimately allowed the writers to dramatise things in a way that they wouldn't have been able to do if they had just resumed immediately after Season 2.

As time passes, things inevitably change and this was quite obvious from the get-go. With Kaldur'ahm's new role as Aquaman, the sudden restrictions on the Justice League and M'gann's new appearance, the show posed us with a number of questions in a matter of minutes. These changes create intrigue and ensure that we will remain invested throughout as we await enlightenment on how they actually came about.

Furthermore, given the gravity surrounding this season, a time jump was undoubtedly the right choice. While it could be argued that the original five-year jump was unnecessary, this one is a different story altogether. It's been six years since the show has been on the air and, unlike Season 2, this isn't just another season - it's a revival of sorts. It's Young Justice, but it's also 'Outsiders'. It's the rest of the story, but it's also its own story - and the best way to set it apart from the rest is through the time jump.
