Young Justice: Outsiders - 6 Ups & 2 Downs From The Season 3 Premiere

1. Refusing To Shed The Light

While the cancellation of Young Justice hurt, it couldn't break our hearts because they were already broken. The apparent death of Wally West in the final episode was so shocking that it caught us all off-guard. However, given the nature of his death, there were always questions surrounding the possibility of his eventual return.

Wally wasn't just killed right in front of people, he disappeared during his frantic attempt to save the world, ceasing to exist as he sped around The Reach's world-destroyer device. This led us all to believe that perhaps he didn't die and that he had, in fact, been sucked into the Speed Force.

Unfortunately, the season premiere of Young Justice: Outsiders wasn't exactly full of hope in regards to Wally's fate. Picking up two years after his death, he most certainly hadn't been forgotten as the episodes made quite a few references to him throughout - most notably the moment we were reintroduced to Artemis who, in a very tender moment, stared at the picture of her and Wally by her bedside. However, it does seem like, for now, he is still presumed dead.

Perhaps its wrong to judge too soon but, since we have waited six years, we're definitely justified in wanting more of an explanation. In fact, we're justified in wanting Wally back. Kid Flash was, and always will be a major part of the show and, as great as Young Justice: Outsiders could be, it won't reach its full potential without Wally.
