Young Justice: Outsiders – 8 Ups & 1 Down From Episodes 4-6

5. A Starring Role For Miss Martian

The premiere episodes may have reintroduced us to some of the show's core characters but there was one team member that received very little attention - Miss Martian. While we were informed that M'Gann ascended the ranks during the two year gap to become the team's new leader, she wasn't given anything substantial to do and, as a result, appeared in very little of the first three episodes.

However, that all changed in 'Away Mission', when M'Gann volunteered to help Bear solve a problem between the Bug hives and the New Gods on New Genesis. In doing so, she brought her team with her and set up a psychic link between all of them, allowing her to once again become the glue that held the mission together - just like old times.

Moreover, the fact that the Orion impersonator actually turned out to be her own brother, M'Camm (who wanted to start a war between the Bugs and the New Gods) placed her solely at the forefront of the episode as she was the only one equipped to defeat him in a mental battle - something she did with relative ease.

After receiving little to no appreciation in the premiere episodes, 'Away Mission' was almost like a love letter to M'Gann - reminding us why we missed her in the first place. The show always thrives when it focuses on her (and her Martian heritage) and this proved to be yet another example of that.

"Hello Megan!", we missed you.
