5 Ups And 3 Downs From UFC 249

7. Down - No Crowd, Less Fun

We know that we should be grateful just to be able to watch fights at the moment, especially with everything that's going on in the world. This is the first major sporting event back and it seemed to be a large success for all involved. There were plenty of wild scraps, great moments on commentary between Joe Rogan, Daniel Cormier and Jon Anik and the production was on point. It was just missing the crowd.

Now mixed martial arts fans haven't always proven themselves to the greatest in the world, but the crowd reaction to some of the incredible match-ups we saw at UFC 249 would've been fantastic. Imagine how people would've responded to Francis Ngannou's knockout win, Henry Cejudo's retirement or Gaethje's bludgeoning of Tony Ferguson?

The event definitely had some cool aspects, but there really isn't anything like hearing the intense roar of the crowd as the background to two people battling it out to see who the better person is.
